Whether or not you had one yourself, you probably remember the portable devices that housed a digital creature that you had to take care of, feed, and give attention to – lest they perish! The target audience for these toys were young girls, so Digimon were created for a young male demographic. Instead of taking care of their digital pets, boys trained them to make them stronger and send them to battle with other players. The franchise made an anime that got popular thanks to Fox Kids.
