Perhaps TSA decided to go on a lunch break just as it was your turn to go through security. Perhaps your flight got delayed for hours on end until it was inevitably canceled.

We pause these airport fiascos for some personal story time. I am certain I am not the only traveler who has ever taken the risk of booking the cheapest possible ticket, only to show up on the day and find out that my unassigned seat might be in jeopardy because the entire flight was overbooked. Nope? Just me? Well, I managed to get a $500 voucher out of it along with better seats on the next available flight, but if that wasn't the most stressful hour of my life, I don't know what could be.
