'I attended a social media photoshoot, not a wedding': Couple's influencer-style wedding lasts four days, guests foot the bill for final dinner

Weddings these days are a whole production. I went to one last weekend for an old college roommate, and the level of detail that goes into planning is insane. Not only were there three different photographers walking around, but they also had a videographer and someone exclusively taking film photos. Why do you need that many pictures? I can't even imagine the cost.

At one point, I was standing by a table where they had wedding photos from past generations. There were photos of the couple's parents, grandparents, and even their great-grandparents. Her grandma told me that the black-and-white photo of her wedding was the only picture taken that day. Just one. But now, thanks to social media, wedding photoshoots have spiraled into something completely different. It's less about the wedding and more about the aesthetic.

At the end of the day, a wedding is about celebrating love with the people who matter most, not curating the perfect social media moment.
