I'm not saying I have a weird sense of humor, but everyone around me definitely says that—a lot. Apparently, the things that make me laugh don't always make sense to normal people, and honestly, I get it. Sometimes I find something hilarious, but if I tried to explain why, I'd have to break down at least three different fandoms, explain an obscure reference from a decade-old meme, and somehow connect it all back to an inside joke from a show that got canceled after one season. By the time I finished explaining, the joke wouldn't be funny anymore—and neither would I.
I've always been this way. My friends would tell me a normal joke about some guy walking into a doctor's office, and I'd politely crack a smile so I didn't offend them. But then I'd stumble upon an image of a shrimp frying rice with the caption "Rice Fried," and I would absolutely lose it. Tears streaming, gasping for air—the whole deal. And if anyone asked me why it was funny, I'd just stare at them, unable to explain. Some jokes you get, some jokes you don't, and some jokes were made just for the absurd little gremlin in my brain.
