After finding a simple gold ring in the river, most people's first thought would be to try it on for size. But Lord of the Rings fans know the consequences first hand of sticking your digits where they don't belong! The eye of Sauron would come sweeping across the lands of Middle Earth, scouring Gondor, Fangorn Forest, Bree, and Lothlórien to find the One Ring, yet in the hands of a fundamentally unserious hobbit, it's lost. Not to be romantic about it, but perhaps the hobbits possess a certain level of cloaking ability, despite their fascination with gold banded rings.
How is it that the hobbits got stuck bearing the burden of an all-powerful ring?
Well, in the hands of foolish Men, the ring is corrupted. The elves are far too wise to tamper with the likes of dark evils. But the hobbits—oh those sweet, cheese wheel doting hobbits—are none-the-wiser about the evils at bay in Middle Earth. As spectators of our favorite series, it's our duty as humans to beget the fundamentally wholesome vibes of the hobbits in our daily lives, resisting the evil powers that be despite their shiny and mercurial nature.
