17-year-old leaves to stay with grandparents after parents announce pregnancy with 7th child, parents threaten to sue them: ' They're threatening to sue them now'

It's a shame when things turn out this way but sometimes it's for the best. This exasperated and exhausted teen shared their experience with this online community, wondering if they were in the wrong for leaving to stay with their grandparents after their parents announced yet another pregnancy, which would add another child in the household with the teen and their already five siblings. The teen was sick and tired of being the effective third parent and default babysitter of their siblings and so left to live with their grandparents, earning the ire of their parents who threatened to sue the grandparents for refusing to make the teen leave and return home.

Not really sure you're able to sue someone just because your almost adult child is choosing to live with them instead of in your custody. Either way, it should be simple for the grandparents and the 17-year-old to prove the unfitness of their parents to care for them, which may cause other issues and knock-on effects for them with the custody of their other children too once the authorities get involved. But maybe it needs to happen, and besides, they were the ones to cast the first stone.
