Well, it's official. We have our first confirmed cast member for the Harry Potter Max series. John Lithgow will be taking off the Cardinal robes he wore in the Best Picture nominee Conclave and will be putting on the wizard robes of one Albus Dumbledore. On accepting the role, Lithgow said this:

""It's going to define me for the last chapter of my life... I'll be about 87 years old at the wrap party, but I've said yes."

I think it's worth wondering whether the series will actually make it to the final years. I know there are a lot of Harry Potter fans who are excited about it, but the way that Warner Brothers handled the release of the ill-fated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films, I'm a bit skeptical.
