We get it. This is a weird situation to be in, and although we have never been in something similar, we have a feeling that we would have reacted in the same way. Forget the fact that this person is calling their roommate's cat their own. We would never stand for them locking the cat in their room.

Hey, we did not really doubt you at any point. Anyone who is willing to go out of their way and have a confrontation with their roommate about their cat's wellbeing is most likely someone who cares about their cat. We will say that we are glad the roommate is leaving soon. That's a good thing for everyone, but mostly for the cat.
