Do you have a type? No, I'm not talking about attributes you look for in a potential partner – I'm talking about fictional characters. From cartoons, to movies, to video games, to novels: it is impossible to have a completely original idea. Forms of media build off of each other, taking certain aspects and changing them to fit new narratives. This is how tropes are born. Though, sometimes what may appear to be a trope at play is actually an homage to another work. Looking at the media that I consume, I seem to have a thing for eccentric detectives with a sweet tooth. Am I talking about the anime icon L, or am I referring to Twin Peak's very own Special Agent Dale Cooper? Both tbh.
