All a real Lord of the Rings fan wants is to become a hobbit of the Shire.

With nothing to do all day but hand-pick the homegrown tomatoes before tonight's town feast and read the latest edition of Bilbo Baggin's memoirs, being a hobbit summarizes the pinnacle of existence. Rolling green hills, delicious hearty foods, and an endless supply of lore and music, the hobbits (even the dreaded Sackville-Bagginses) have a delightful life.

However, it seems that no matter our desires to enjoy an early and endless retirement in Hobbiton, most of us are stuck walking barefoot towards Mordor, battling unsightly beasts, avoiding conflict with our Fellowship, and burying the memory of one particularly terrifying Balrog. Alas, we don't have a quest quite so noble as the one of Frodo Baggins, but in order to enjoy our peace and serenity, perhaps we must endure the terrifying climb through Minas Morgul first.
