As being an influencer has become more and more of an accepted career path, it is amazing the lengths that some will go to simply for the sake of engagement and views. Of course, there are the MrBeasts of this world who come up with ever more elaborate conceits and make ridiculous amounts of money for it, but it is even common for those who are more small time to do things that are likely to raise eyebrows.

With the ruthless algorithms that social media has today, it is inevitable that many will try and do the most to stand out. However, this often comes with consequences, especially when they are doing something at somebody else's expense. The ethics of a career on the internet can be murky, but that doesn't mean that it is a necessity to play into that. Unfortunately, that is exactly what a certain minority try to do.
