To be completely honest, I do think that 28-years-old is a little on the older side to be starting to pursue a demanding physical career like dancing, but either way, OP is allowed to say no to babysitting for any reason. Even if she won't make the part in the audition, it's her life.

Our bodies are so fragile. Our 20s are so forgiving, but even in our mid-late 20s our bodies start to be much less forgiving. I had a lot of athlete friends when I was younger, and they said even by 25 their injuries lasted much longer than they did at 18-years-old. Our lives really are like pieces of fruit.
