'It's too late to save our marriage': Woman decides to leave after step kids turn against her and husband stands by doing nothing

I can't imagine what it's like to get into a relationship with someone who has kids. It's not a bad thing, but it definitely comes with its own set of challenges. There's more than just one person you have to win over, and the kids' opinion is usually the most important. But from a kid's perspective, having a new parental figure in your life can feel weird. They're not your real parent, so why should you listen to them?

The woman in this story started dating a guy with two young kids. She didn't meet them until things got serious, and, well, the kids didn't take it very well. Their dad promised it would blow over. But... it didn't. What made things worse was the kids' other side of the family telling them not to listen to this new woman in their lives. Five years, a wedding, and even the arrival of a new half-sibling couldn't fix the situation. So, this woman made the hard choice and packed her bags.
