The elements are one of the few things that people don't really have any control over these days, and as a result, it is in everybody's interest to get acquainted with them. Nobody wants it to be hair wash day when it rains, or to be wearing a coat when it's 90 degrees out. Also, there are the rather important instances of extreme weather events that everybody needs to be prepared for.
This is where meteorologists come in, providing people around the world a public service by letting them know what the sky is going to be doing in the near future. Many love to complain when the weather forecast is wrong, but plenty of us would be lost without it and the services that it provides. Here's to the conditions that can be found all over Earth, from the mildest of climates to the natural disaster hotspots. They make for some good memes.
