My fiancé recently found out that I can play the piano; he was totally unaware of my musical abilities for the last three years. He was watching a video about some aspect of musical theory, and I made a passing comment, exposing the knowledge that I had gained over the course of my ten year run as a piano player. He was shocked, and he even felt a little betrayed. I never lied about anything, though, not even by omission. We just never came across a playable piano over the course of our relationship, and he never asked!
