‘I just got called a “Maple Licker"…’: Americans hilariously roast Canadians like a sibling rivalry after ban gets halted in the U.S.

Listen, we all have our issues around the world. Right now, it feels like the U.S. has more issues than most, but I digress. As an American, it is our right to be able to complain and make fun of ourselves. So, we self-deprecate left and right. I would be so bold as to say it's what makes up 99% of American humor–at least online it does. But the second someone starts talking about us behind our back, we draw the line… Sorta. We're not disagreeing with what you're saying about us, but like, we gotta be in on the joke too. Or else, we're going to roast back. For real, if there is one thing Americans are known for, it's for being outspoken and confrontational.

So when the U.S. was invited back to TikTok in less than 24 hours after then ban, ooooooh baby, did we catch some folks talking behind our backs. Again, nothing we disagree with, but first of all, HOW DARE YOU. The British, fine, we expect to have a forever-feud with them after the Revolutionary war, it's just ingrained in our DNA. The Australians, okay, kinda hurts cause y'all are fun, but our timezones are so different we hardly ever cross paths online. But the Canadians… Wow. Our own continent sibling??…

Of course, Canadians and Americans share a similar sense of humor, so, for the most part, no one was going for each other's throats. We both come from a love of self-deprecation. So when the Americans came back and found the Canadians talking roasting us while we were away, it turned into a sibling rivalry. So thus, the Canadian roasting began. Bother Americans and Canadians are cracking up over the Stepbrothers/Orbit Gum Commercial-level of insults appearing in the comment sections and we are here for it.

We love a good online funny feud between countries who share a border!
