Food is one of the easiest things to overspend on when you are trying to budget. It's simple enough to avoid shopping malls and the clothes section of Target to cut down on unnecessary items, but all those quick Starbucks trips and last-second snack grabs at the grocery store check-out eventually add up. That doesn't mean you can't have any little treats at all, though! All you have to do is take care of the essentials first; any money left over can go towards the salt and vinegar chips and Reese's covered animal crackers.

In our story today, a young couple ventures out together for a grocery store run. The two, however, are not on the same page concerning their budget. After our protagonist puts one-too-many unnecessary items in the cart, she reminds him that they need to stick to their grocery list to save money. He reacts akin to a toddler in the midst of the "terrible two" years, embarrassing her publicly. She abandons him, not wanting to deal with a child she did not bring to this world. I don't think this is what Mr. Dude was doing in this scenario, but I do enjoy putting things in my cart and walking around the store with them, only to put them back at the last second. It's the real-life equivalent of adding things to your cart on Amazon and exiting out before you pay. It's a kind of rush.
