Boss fires teenage employee after she gets scammed into refunding a $3000 fake receipt, then demands father pays for the honest mistake: ‘Sounds like a second scam’

One of the first life lessons most of us learn is that mistakes are learning opportunities, and that owning up to errors shows character. But for some business owners, It's the kind of wholesome wisdom that belongs on inspirational coffee mugs and corporate training slideshows, right alongside a "We're like family here" framed print and a "sales go up & down but service stays forever" motivational wall art.

A teenage worker recently learned just how quickly those workplace "values" can evaporate when she processed what looked like a legitimate refund request. The receipts seemed real. The customer seemed genuine. Yet within days, everything unraveled as management discovered it was all an elaborate scam.

Firing her was just the beginning. The manager, not yet satisfied, decided to step it up and drag the teenager and her family into a B-list mob movie scene.
