The Most Entertaining Takes From TikTok This Week (January 21, 2025)

It has been perhaps the biggest anticlimax of 2025 so far; after all the drama, handwringing, and numerous memes, TikTok's availability was reinstated in the US after being shut down for just 12 hours. While this doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to stay that way, all those lamenting the loss of their beloved FYP can feel safe again (unless they deleted the app in a hurry).

This also means that we can continue to observe the full range of amusing tidbits that the clock app has thrown at us over the past few years. One thing about TikTokers is that they will never pass up an excuse to reveal it all in the name of fleeting entertainment. For at least the next couple of months, this can continue in its full glory, and all the wannabe digital anthropologists out there will be gleefully documenting it. This is only a small part of the puzzle.
