Wow this is is a tough one and truly highlights the complexity of making things work within a wider family unit. You can definitely understand this woman’s frustration at being totally disrespected, after all, an allergic reaction that strong is simply no fun to endure. But on the other hand, leaving in such dramatic fashion, leaving your husband behind is also a little heavy to put on the whole family.
As the commenters comment below, there were probably some better solutions to the problem, but who knows if it was even possible to figure something out under such stress.

As this commenter says, even if you had all the Benadryl in the world, it would not necessarily help or stop an allergic reaction. In all likelihood a combination of what they have suggested along with what some of the other commenters have said about putting the doggo outside or in a different room could have been the best solution.
