As we approach the middle of January, we are in peak resolution-breaking season. All those earnest promises that were made in the wake of leaving yet another year behind are, in many cases, seeming increasingly futile as the realization that you might have to keep this up for another 365 days dawns.
Even if you disavow the whole 'new year, new me' mindset, this is still a time when the reality of it everything sets in a little more. There is still a whole two weeks of January to go, and unless you have some kind of fun birthday coming up, it can feel like there is not a lot to look forward to. At least we have memes to guide us through this confusing time of trying to get together, reminding us that everybody is kind of making it up as they go along.
