Don't worry. This happens. And it's just a matter of time. Cats are not great with moving in general, and moving on top of having new humans around can be scary as heck. But give him enough time and space and respect (and snacks) and eventually, not only will this kitty come out of its hiding place, it will also be purring in your lap in no time.
