Kid tells father's friends about his 18th birthday: 'He... told me to act like we're a happy family in front of his old friends'

Do you remember what you were gifted for your 18th birthday? For many kids, it's a huge deal. Their families put together elaborate parties. Some parents give their 18-year-olds expensive clothes, new video game consoles, or even a new car if they're privileged enough. Just thinking about their teen's 18th birthday is enough to make some parents emotional: they've raised their child to adulthood, and their kid will soon be off in the real world working or attending college. 

However, not every parent actually enjoys having their kid around. For some teens, waking up on their 18th birthday means they're getting evicted from Mom and Dad's house! Instead of celebrating with friends and family, they have to spend the day packing everything they own and scrambling to find housing.
