Petty gift-giver takes present back after family member gives them nothing: 'Petty me cancelled their vacation'

This gift-giver is taking back what they gave. It's an unusual tactic, but given the circumstances, this person felt it was warranted! 

Giving a present and then taking it back is the kind of thing you do as a toddler, not as an adult! Once you wrap something up in wrapping paper and bows and give it away, it's no longer yours to revoke. You've already done your part, put a smile on that person's face, and moved on with your day. But this person felt especially scorned by a relative who didn't even bother to get them a present.

As commenters pointed out, this person already knew their relative wasn't very nice, so it's bizarre that they'd do so. It's an awfully pricey gift for someone you don't even care for!
