It's the week of Christmas, and you know what that means! A lot of people are about to receive pets they can't take care of as gifts this upcoming Wednesday, and there's nothing we can do about it. I know it's become a meme to say, "[Animal] isn't a toy; it's a [however many] year-long commitment, but that is so true. It might be a cute moment to have a puppy come out of a box with a red ribbon around his neck, but that puppy has to walk, defecate, go to the vet, get attention, and eat food for at least the next 10-15 years. If you're telling an 8-year-old they can have a dog, but they have to take care of it themselves, you're kidding yourself.
