Merry Christmas to this project manager, who successfully showed his arrogant bosses what's what. Sometimes, the only way to prove your value when you have been repeatedly wronged in the workplace is to make your bosses feel what business is like in your absence.
Here, we have a contractor who built himself up from someone with no construction experience to the most valuable project manager at his company, working as foreman, superintendent, and project manager for a wildly lower salary. After successfully completing another multi-million dollar project and earning a huge win for his bosses, the Redditor circled back on previous discussions they had about a raise and a Christmas bonus for all his hard work. Both of these requests were immediately rejected, which subsequently led to a quick and successful job search that resulted in an offer with two times the salary and much better benefits. To make matters worse for his current company, the pending $3 million contract for a new project was now up in the air given that the HOA involved only wanted to work with the Redditor.
