It's the end of the year (finally!) and the office work is winding down for the year. It's the season for out-of-office email auto-replies. Who doesn't love to hear that glorious phrase, "Let's work on this in the new year"?
However, for one office worker, an innocent email quickly turned into a 5 alarm fire. All this woman wanted to do was ask her coworkers if they had any leads on an apartment. That's already not a very professional thing to do in a big workplace. I mean, it's one thing to casually ask the coworkers you're close to, but messaging 30,000 people is a little overkill.
Worse still, the woman's coworkers started doing that annoying reply-all thing where they'll message "take me off this chain," thereby making everyone else read that extra message. And once the out-of-office emails got triggered by the original email, things just ballooned out of control.
