Boy mom gets called out for complaining about adult son wanting to spend Christmas with his girlfriend's family instead of her: 'There's a reason he won't be spending Christmas with you'

Few groups of people take issue with the inevitable passage of time quite as harshly as the boy mom. One of the more bittersweet parts of parenting is watching your children become more independent and have lives that in some ways will involve you less, and this kind of mother does not enjoy having to come to terms with that. 

Unfortunately for her, this isn't something that people on social media are all that sympathetic to as proven by a recent viral tweet. When one mom complained about her son asking to spend Christmas with his girlfriend's family instead of her, many took issue with the emotionally manipulative tone that she had taken when talking about her disappointment. As kids get older, it is inevitable that what major holidays look like will change, and it's OK to have mixed feelings about that. However, it is important to communicate about it carefully.
