Customer service employees come across a lot of interesting characters during their shifts. This is true especially if you're working the overnight shift at a gas station or in a hot spot retail environment. Everyone's gotta shop, and that includes literally everyone.
Retail employees know that the cash register is one of the most disillusioning positions in a store. You are met with happy shoppers and impatient returners, expected to handle big bills and bags of dimes and nickels, all the while keeping an uncomfortable smile on your face. That's retail, baby! Some customers have the ability to make or break your spirits during a grueling shift, but others might make you confused more than anything—like the nice lady in this next story.
The original poster explains that they were working the register at a clothing store when a nice woman attempted to pay with a handwritten check. The store accepts checks, but the lady didn't fill out the date, amount, or sign the paper. When the cashier explains that she needs to put down all of her information, the lady expects them to cash the check for her at the bank! All is well in the end, but some commenters are suspicious about the "nice" lady's intentions. Scroll to read.
