Why is it so difficult for some people to sit in the seat they paid for when taking public transportation? It should be easy to understand—you paid for a service, a seat, a product—it's now yours. It's S-tier entitlement when folks take it upon themselves to hijack a seat on an airplane, especially when they lie to other passengers about why they're sitting in a seat that doesn't belong to them. To add fuel to the fire, this next story takes place on a flight during a holiday weekend!
The original poster (OP) was excited that they had an empty seat next to them on their flight, as shown in their airline app. When they board the plane, they notice a woman sitting in their seat and ask her what she's doing there. The woman responds that the flight attendant shuffled the seat assignments around and that the OP can sit a few rows ahead of them. When the OP sits down in the seat, they realize that they were likely told to sit there because their original assigned seat had an empty seat. So, the OP confronts the woman, who leads her on an unrelenting game of musical chairs. In the end, the woman gets exactly what she deserves. Scroll to read.
