Entitled bride disinvites struggling bridesmaid from her wedding because she cannot afford the bridal festivities, bridesmaid claims it is a blessing in disguise: ‘She was just purely selfish’

As exciting as being a part of a wedding party can be, the cost of the role is not often spoken about.

If your friend has expensive taste, you're looking at thousands of dollars being drained from your bank account once you're done tallying up the cost of the bachelor(ette) excursion, the attire, the wedding gift, and so on! Most of the time, the bride pays for certain services/garments so the burden doesn't fall on the wedding party who were asked to attend the wedding in a special role. 

Other brides, on the other hand… They have money to throw around for themselves but not for their devoted wedding party.

The woman in this next story was disinvited from her friend's wedding because she could not afford all of the events the bride had planned out for her wedding party. The woman mentions that the bride comes from wealth, so it shouldn't have been a problem to front the cost of the dress or bridal shower if her lack of attendance at these events was a deal breaker. Even in the middle of the debacle, the bride decided she didn't want a "traditional wedding" at all and scrapped the bridesmaid idea altogether!
