Everyone has a story or two about taking the blame for something they didn't do or got chewed out for a problem that was not caused by them—they were just collateral. Either scenario is painful to experience because you want to shout from the rooftops that you are the wrong culprit, but power dynamics get in the way. 

In this next story's case, a gym employee is getting the heat for clocking out later than what his schedule says on paper. The employee's tardy coworker arrives to relieve the original poster (OP) consistently late while the employee is stuck behind the front desk until she gets there. The OP was just following rules and regulations because there should be a staff member on the clock while patrons are inside the gym, but then he decides to take his manager's advice to heart.
