Kids and screens can be a troublesome mix. While it might be controversial, those parents who ban their children from having screen time make some reasonable points. That being said, there can also be some positives to it in moderation. It is enforcing that which can turn out to be a problem.
This is something that one aunt struggled with when her sister asked her to babysit her nephew and niece for the night. She had been told that her 7-year-old nephew was not allowed to use his tablet after 8 PM, but he threw a tantrum when she didn't let him use it at bedtime.
When her sister came to pick her kids up, she was angry at the boundaries that had been enforced, even though she had asked for them. It is no surprise that the internet firmly sided with the aunt who had been trying to do her best.
