Welcome, existentialists, stoics, idealists, absurdists, humanists, pragmatists, and subscribers of other, unmentioned schools of thought. The world is a confusing place. Things might be easier if we were simple-minded animals, caring only for finding our next meal, staying safe from predators, attracting a mate, and dozing off in our downtime. Unfortunately for us, one of our prehistoric ancestors decided to start eating tubers, cooking meat, or experimenting with fermentation, with one of these theoretically having resulted in humans having larger brains capable of language, art, and philosophy.
Thanks to some hominid way back in our family tree, we are now forced to ponder, to imagine, to theorize, and furthermore, to communicate these complex thoughts and ideas with other people. While philosophers of days passed wrote down their contemplations or had others do it (looking at you, Socrates), we as a species have evolved and are now wired to communicate most effectively through memes. If you are a chronic big brain thinker, take a scroll down and enjoy these philosophical musings in the form of silly units of cultural transmission.
