There's a big difference between supporting your family and supporting a family you've known for less than 2 years. If you're the sole earner for your household, constantly getting up early and staying at work late to ensure that your kids and partner are sufficiently supported, you probably have pride in that act of selflessness. As much as men's rights activists online like to act like working to support a family is a scam created by unsatisfied, pernicious women, the majority of men with stay-at-home mom wives don't resent the women who set their careers aside to raise their small children. Who knew that most men actually like their wives?
Not working to care for babies and toddlers is one thing, but what if you're 47 years old, have two grown children, and none of you work for a living? One perpetually unemployed adult in a family is an exception, but three are the rule. Unfortunately, the mother's boyfriend is paying the price for their laziness.
