Setting boundaries with your family can be tough, but the younger sister in this next story drew the hard line in the sand after her sister badmouthed her to the whole family.
Occasionally, a family roast is good for your ego, but if you're canceling plans and bending over backward to accommodate your sister's child-rearing because she's a struggling single mother, you earn an exemption card from any and all future roasts. Never again can your sibling say anything false about your character, because you've proven time and again that you're a good aunt (or uncle).
For the 26-year-old woman in our next tale, babysitting was always a no-brainer. Her sister and her 3 kids needed her help, so she proudly stepped up, watching the kiddos on demand for many years. However, that gravy train left the station after her entitled sister got upset about the one time the kid's aunt had other plans that couldn't be canceled.
