Let's make one thing clear – the "dream job" does not exist. Nothing can ever amount to what you dream of, and nothing is perfect. There is always a catch or something that you will have to settle for, and honestly? That is perfectly okay. 

When you look for a job, some recommend creating a pros and cons list for every role you think of accepting, so you can navigate between the good and the bad of all your options. If it is not already obvious, you should not take a job with more cons than pros, especially if one of the cons is the pay.

To the credit of the person who wrote this Reddit story, they didn't initially know that the pay is the biggest con of the job they just accepted, they only discovered it at the end of their first day. However, once OP (original poster) did find out that they had been lied to, they left without a second thought.
