From fringe to fro, the 70s and 80s had the best hairstyles. Nowadays, the 'cool' kids have broccoli-headed hairdos that barely constitute as style, but back in our day, with our platform shoes, flared jeans, and vibrant jackets, all we needed to accessorize a bad-to-the-bone attitude was a rockin' mop. It sure was easier to be cool back in those days because it seemed like everybody was cool. The cars were cool, the music was cool, the clothes were cool–you'd have to be actively avoiding grooviness to swerve any sort of Cool Factor.
And so be it, the days of yore where youth was certainly wasted on the young, concerts were cheap, and gas was .50 cents a gallon. At least we can look back fondly with kaleidoscope glasses at a totally tubular time in our history because there never was (nor will there ever be) another era quite as funky cool as the 70s and 80s.
