The beautiful thing about life in the Midwest is that it's simple. We don't fuss around with nonsense. We like our cheddar sharp, our lakes great and our weather unpredictable. We don't care what kind of car you drive, what's in your bank account, or what if your shoes are from Costco. Heck, we will applaud you for buying clothes at Costco, assuming they were acquired at a great discount. All we care about is if you're a nice person if we can borrow your snowblower, and if you could pass along your mom's recipe for tater tot casserole. The rest is moot.
We're a friendly people and we're open to visitors, as long as you don't put ketchup on your hotdog or claim that we aren't the best region in the whole world. Then we might just share our memes with you. That's how you know you've made it.
