While I was never a fan of regular chess, I can't say I am not enchanted by the idea of getting to play Wizard's Chess, especially if it is life-size like the one Harry, Ron, and Hermione playing the Philosopher's Stone. Granted, I would rather not face a life-threatening situation like Ron did, but getting to see this game play out with giant, living pieces sure does sound nice.
If I was a Hogwarts student, I am sure I would have found another student who was as enthusiastic about the game as I was, and we would sit for hours in the Common Room and just practice. We could be quite a due together, beating anyone who dares to play against us. It would be our own nerdy and safe version of a Quidditch match.
