So many people out there still believe in the complete and utter lie that cats don't care about anyone other than themselves. We don't know how this keeps happening. All the stories that we share about how much cats love their humans and will be there when we need them, and people still believe this. So, fine, if you won't believe us when we tell you those stories, maybe you'll believe it today, when we talk about how much cats love adopting their own kittens.
This story is by far not the first time that this happened. We have seen everything from super-mom cats adopting kittens from other litters and raising them as their own, to house cats picking up kittens from random places outside and deciding that they are not part of their families, all the way to stories like today - where it's the human who brought the new kitten home but the cat who truly made it part of the family.
It's amazing how the Cat Distribution System works. You may have been the one to find the kitten, but you know as well as we do that if your cat refused to accept it, someone else most likely would have had to take the kitten in. But the CDS knows what it's doing, and it knew that this kitten's place was in this home.
This is love if we have ever seen it. This is trust. This is true friendship that will last a lifetime. For a cat to accept a kitten so quickly and so wholly, sleeping with it tucked underneath it… it's incredible. And the kitten finding peace here as well… this was all definitely meant to be.
