Nothing says the Midwest quite like an apple cider donut on a crisp fall morning. Sure, they might have that on the east coast, but I'm sure it doesn't feel the same. The Midwest has a peaceful quietude that can never be rivaled by the bustling coasts. You can look around and see nothing but corn fields for miles, and what's more autumnal than that? We're now officially in the peak of fall in the Midwest. The pumpkins and ghosts are giving way to turkeys and changing leaves. It's a beautiful sight.
One of the peak Midwestern experiences is sitting out on the porch with a hot coffee and the sports section and yelling at the neighborhood kids to stop playing in the leaf pile you meticulously raked that morning. Or maybe that's the peak Midwestern Dad experience. Either way, I want it. And I want to look at memes while I do so.
