'You don't get to invite unwanted guests': Couple elopes privately so they don't have to deal with bride's entitled Karen Mom

Here is yet another tale of an entitled parent making their kid's wedding festivities entirely about them. However, for once, the bride and groom managed to win out in the end. 

Let's start with a little backstory. The Redditor had a tumultuous relationship with her brother and his wife that resulted in a mutual understanding that they would not be attending the Redditor's upcoming nuptials… that is, until their entitled Karen Mommy decided to intervene. On top of inviting the brother and his wife without her daughter's permission, Mommy Dearest also thought it was well within her right to press for an open bar and invite other unwanted guests. Thankfully, the bride and groom had enough foresight to realize this wedding was going to be a disaster as long as the bride's mother was a part of the festivities. So, they decided to elope one weekend with their closest friends as officiants and witnesses. Of course, the bride's mother was not happy about this, but that's what she gets for making absolutely everything about her.
