If you can avoid it, please don't be the customers who show up to an establishment mere seconds before closing time.
There are few words that waiters hate to hear more than, "Oh good, we made it just before closing time!" The waitstaff are expecting people to be out of the building by the time the end of their shift rolls around. That way, they can properly close the restaurant: there's a lot of cleaning, restocking, or counting money that has to happen before all of the staffers can head home for the night. Some customers seem to think that staffers just shut the lights off and head home after closing, when in reality, it can take many hours to clean up and prepare the restaurant for the next day's opening shift.
These customers did a few things that irritated their server, but u/perplexedwriting still took these people's order, even though it seriously bugged the kitchen staff. You can check out their story below, as well as comments from people who assured this server that they did nothing wrong.
Up next, read about some employees who were thrilled to quit their jobs on the spot, like one person who did just that and then "went to work for [the company's] competition."
