Look, I am the biggest advocate of the idea that there is a lot to be cynical about when it comes to love and relationships, but even I have to admit that romance can be great. Done right, it has the potential to make us feel amazing. It can inspire us to do wonderful things for one another, and perhaps most importantly of all, in a world that's full of boredom and despair, it's just plain fun. Evolution knew what it was doing when it made this stuff happen!
Unfortunately, it is also easy to get overwhelmed by the negative side of it, as proven by a recent controversial tweet. One wannabe psychologist claimed that having a crush was merely the result of somebody giving you attention while you have attachment issues, leading to widespread protest. It may be true that much of the time, a crush is just a lack of information, but isn't it a hoot filling in the blanks?
