Working in a customer service position means you are faced with rather interesting characters. Whether these customers are simply something to laugh at or they find the best way to push your buttons, it's never a dull moment. Especially if you're working the night shift at a 24-hour establishment, you're bound to run into some folks you wouldn't normally run into during the day. These are the folks you need to keep an eye out for, as they might just be the characters that twist your arm.
The employee in this story is a clerk at a 24-hour gas station. He was just finished counting up the register for the night when a boomer and his son walked into the station and asked for $40 worth of gas and $10 of snacks. Instead of paying with a $50, a few $20s, or even all $5s, the older gentleman brings out a bag of pennies that he says amounts to $50. The employee then exercises his right to refuse service because the payment method is absurd and the man freaks out. The authorities are called, and the boomer is schooled on an employee's right to refuse service. Then, as if he had a magic wand, begrudgingly coughs up a crisp $50 bill.
