Remember going to a video rental store to pick out a bunch of movies? Long before streaming services and YouTube, if you wanted a movie night, you'd head to a movie theater or a video rental store. You could rent a bunch of movies and pay for them by the day. You'd gather all your friends, watch that new movie together with a bowl of popcorn, and then return it ASAP to avoid paying too much for the privilege of renting a video. Eventually, a lot of these stores began renting video games, DVDs, CDs, and other media. It wasn't the most convenient system, but it's what we had at the time.
This person, u/QuixiQuirk, used to work at a video rental place long ago, and they have some less-than-fond memories of their supervisor there. She didn't care for the young employees and would take out her frustrations on them, which is really unfair to anyone, let alone a bunch of kids making minimum wage. However, this person got back at her, as you can read all about in the incredible story below.
Up next, read about the server who boldly told a customer off for trying to get a free beverage, saying that "I stood up for myself, and I won."
