It's hard to believe that the Tom and Jerry cartoons, which originally came out all the way back in 1940, are still as funny and popular today as they were back in the day. They are truly timeless classics. I remember sitting in front of the TV as a kid, laughing hysterically every time Tom got whacked, smacked, zapped, crushed, burnt, or squished into any shape imaginable. It's crazy to think that our grandparents would go to the movies to laugh just as hard at the exact same cartoons, and that our grandkids will probably do the same—perhaps in VR.
One person who developed a slight obsession with the cartoon cat and mouse is a Japanese artist named Taku Inoue, who decided to immortalize his favorite moments from the cartoons as sculptures. These sculptures perfectly capture the chaotic, slapstick energy that made the series so beloved, and they serve as a humorous homage to Tom and Jerry's most iconic mishaps.
