It's October, and it's time to break out your old Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD. I don't make the rules. Tim Curry is a spooky god. Between playing Pennywise in Stephen King's original It movie and embodying the fabulous Frank-N-Furter in Rocky Horror, it's safe to say that he knows what he's doing. I wasn't allowed to watch the film when I was growing up because of its core themes, but lucky young fans know that the movie is a campy masterpiece.
The film broke barriers in the film industry through its takes on gender, promiscuity, and overall costume design. Instead of running with a well-known trope, Lou Adler and Michael While decided to take the film in an entirely new and refreshing direction. Though we can't visit Over the Frankenstein Place in real life, we can binge-watch the movie over and over again until it feels like we are there.
