It is absolutely mind-boggling that in the U.S. it isn't the law for business to provide their employees with paid time off (PTO). How can you expect happy and mentally sane employees if you don't ever let them have a break and go enjoy the lives they are working for? That is some serious entitlement. Fortunately, smart business owners know this and provide all of their employees with some sort of PTO. But what happens when you find yourself working somewhere that does not? Well, first of all, how did you end up there in the first place? You should ALWAYS ask about PTO and all of the benefit options before you sign yourself up for any job. But, if that somehow slipped your mind during the interview process and now you have been working there for long enough that you need a break, you have to ask about it now. If they say they do not have PTO, you should do exactly what this hotel concierge did: Quit. Read how it all went down below!
